The Austrian national flower is the Edelweiss or Leontopodium Alpinum, grows in the European mountains, belongs to the sunflower family, is star shaped and has a short life. It is also called FloareaReginei (raindrops flower).
National Flower of Austria
Traditionally they are used for home remedies, for stomach and respiratory aches, but National Flower of Austria has an important place in Austrian Euro coins
The weather conditions, clean air, lakes, spectacular views on walks through the Alps, make the Edelweiss dazzle tourists visiting Austria.
Because they are field flowers, there are also other flowers that are known in Austria as Alpine Carnation, Arnica, Rosa Alpina, Heather or Hyacinth; but they are not known in America.
